OK here is the deal, contestants are always criticised for singing anything Celine, Whitney, and Mariah. Yet, tonight they are being forced to do just that as Mariah Carry is the mentor tonight. Anybody that sings a Mariah remake is a chicken. They need to stick to songs by Mariah, the library should be huge.
David C and Kristy seem to be the only two that are out of their element, every one else should have no problem.
My pre-show prediction is:
Bottom 3: Kristi Lee Cook, David Cook, and Jason Castro
Leaving: Jason Castro
I wonder what kind of surprises they'll throw at us tonight.

Oh Joe, David Cook is never out of his element!
He could sing a commercial and put it on the pop chart!
He has the raw talent to make it big as a singer, arranger, and performer. Even if the popularity contest votes him out, he will be the biggest thing to come out of idol this far!
Why can no one else make new sounds out of old songs!?
mushy - seems like Randy, Paula, and Simon totally agree with you. So far Carrie Underwood is breaking the records, it will be a while till onother idol takes her top spot.
I agree with Mushy. I haven't watched yesterdays yet... but I will in a few. But David Cook can sing whatever and I will still love him. I think that if he doesn't win AI (which right now he's got my top vote) he'll still go far. Maybe give Carrie a run for her money. He's awesome.
Now I must go watch the show... so I can see who gets eliminated tonight.

as much as I like David Archuleta... David Cook is gaining vote every week... I'm even going to download his versions of "Hello", "Billy Jean", and last night's version of Mariah Carey's song...

I agree with your assesment of Brooke. She hasn't done it for me for the past three shows. Kristy won't win but she definitely has improved since she started as a top 12 finalist. David Cook's rendition was not to my liking but apparently the three judges really liked it. In case you guys haven't notice Carly (I don't really like her anyway) has not received a good critique, they are desperately trying to get her botted out, she has already failed once as a recording artist and they feel she won't bring in the money. David A is the best vocalist but they feel that David C will sell more records, so he will never receive a bad critique even si se le salen los gallos. I want to see Syesha and Kristy survive one more week. Let's see how tonight goes.

We are definitely on the same track, Carly hasn't gotten the best critques... David Cook will sell lots of albums... and David A... is adorable and I love his voice, but I would buys his cd... he's good to look at while singing. Kristy has improved greatly, but she is still not my faorite... she should have been gone a long time ago. Syesha is good, Simon has never given her the credit, but not American Idol, to me.

GIRLS - I loved Syesha. Singing a song that is not well known, was a smart, strategic move. I defenitely paid attention & did not need to compare to Mariah because I had nothing to compare to. All I knew was that I liked the song and how she was singing it.
Brooke White - Ya me cayo Gorda!
She talks too much...She can go now for all I care.
BOYS - 1) David Archuleta
OF COURSE! I love his raspy voice.
2) David Cook - Once again, held my attention. I don't know who is doing these new arrangements to old pop songs, but I LOVE the concept. I'd buy a record of "REMAKES" in a flash!!
In the end, I want to see the 2 Davids go head-to-head. Now, this would be a SHOW!!!!

For the record, I miss Kristy Lee Cook, I would have been fine with Brooke leaving instead of her. She kept improving while Brooke to me is just pretty much bland.
David vs. David to make it exciting and worthwhile. Anything else will be like a Jordin vs. (Who was that guy, I can't even remember his name?)very much a one sided competition.
