Dance, dance, dance, dance.

They love me, they really love me. Yeah, I'm talking about about my three or four readers, I went on hiatus just for a little while but I have been called back, the summons I received said loud and clear to come back, jeez people I was just taking a week off.

So, most of you know that I grew up dancing so I get hooked on dancing shows, last week we watched the finale of the greatest dancing show around. So You Think You Can Dance is definitely the best dancing show out there. It is amazing to see what these kids can do, for those of you that followed it let it be known that I was 100% on agreement of how the top four placed. We all knew it would be between Jeanine and Brandon but I had a pleasant surprise when Jeanine took the whole thing. She out danced Kayla on the last show with a terrific solo and a great Paso Doble with Brandon.

Then tonight my second favorite dancing show America's Best Dance Crew started its new season. Sunday night is usually boring so I am glad that the show is on Sundays. I think it will be hard to top last season but I know as the weeks pass the dancers will only get better.

The remake of the movie Fame is about to be released, I remember seeing the original at the movies when it first came out, then the following week we went to see it again, obviously when the TV show came out I watched pretty much every episode.

Someone asked me if I like Dancing With the Stars and the answer is no. I watched only the second season and was very disappointed, the show doesn't feel fair as some of the contestants will always be totally out danced by the others, and when those underdog contestants move on to the next week you know it's due to the pity vote.

The best news is that we don't have to wait until next year for the next season of So You Think You Can Dance. The new season will start immediately in September. How awesome is that.

When I first started this blog, SYTYCD and AI were some of my main topics. Well, I dropped American Idol last season, I finally got tired of the show, it feels totally fixed and I stopped watching it three weeks before the finale. I was glad I did. Now the show without Paula won't be the same. I am one of the many fans that enjoy seeing Paula's weird and drunken critiques and she had been a huge part of the show. Will it make a difference now that she is gone? Thankfully I don't really care any more. I hope she does come to SYTYCD as a guest judge and choreographer.

Well, that's it for now folks, I'll talk to you all later, enjoy the week.

Top Eight

It doesn't matter who leaves tomorrow I am still going to hate it. No, not the show, but the fact that two of these very talented dancers will be going home. The truth is that as much as the judges tried to set some apart from the rest it was really hard to come up and say anything negative about the performances. If one said something bad, the other would totally go against his/her point of view.

This season has not developed favorites, I honestly think that people have been voting purely based on their performances, this has not come across as a popularity contest but as a dance competition that has been equally fair to all.

With the exception of Caitlin all my favorites are still in the competition, and my absolute favorite continues to get rave reviews and comments.

The addition of a guest "jidge" namely Ellen DeGeneres was a clever idea. She brought life and humor to the show at a time when understandably so the participants have to be pretty stressed out, not to mention tired from the daily rigors of their schedules. She was very funny without sounding stupid or pretending she was a bona fide dance judge.

Well, tomorrow is the 100th show and they are planning something big to celebrate. Definitely one that should not be missed. Good luck to all dancers, all eight are absolutely awesome.

Top Ten

And then there were 10. This is just such a great group of dancers that each week it doesn't matter who goes out it is not a happy ending. I miss them all. I am happy to say my favorites are still in there. OK, maybe not all my favorites as last week Caitlin one of my favorites since the auditions finally got the boot, so to speak because along with Phillip they were the bottom dancers and the two to go home.

Oh but not so fast, Phillip and his unique hip hop style and Caitlin beautiful dancing charmed the judges and the producers so much that for the first time they are taking the top six couples on the road. What a great surprise, specially for Caitlin whom seem sad to be so close and be eliminated.

The next few shows will really showcase the dancer's abilities and their versatility as they will be getting a different partner from now on. Kayla should be already used to this as she has had different partners already. I kindda worry about Evan and Randi only because everybody else is much taller than they are. It shouldn't be that much of a problem for Randi as it will be for Evan, but again all ten remaining dancers are very talented and I really don't have any predictions as to who is going out. Funny because I am usually accurate on my predictions. This season I am just taking it in as it comes.

On the curiosity side, I want to see what happens to Brandon and Janette. Together they had been the strongest couple now they go their separate ways just like everybody else. Janette the Salsa dancer had been good at everything she has danced so far and I doubt she'll get to dance Salsa in this show. Brandon is just good at everything, he'll be just fine, I'm even thinking he'll be top 2 and eventually will be crowned this seasons champion. Oops, I thought I was not going to do predictions.

I am so looking forward to Wednesday's performance, and can't wait for the fall season to start and this one isn't even over yet.

SYTYCD Top Fourteen

So, four more have left since my last post. Because this season they are all so good it is hard to see anybody leave, so far there has not been the "I am mad because such contestant left" syndrome. I did hate to see Max go as I thought they let him go too soon but still someone had to go.

Two weeks ago we said goodbye to Max and Ashley, of the two I was bummed Max was cut but I predicted it and not necessarily because he was bad, I just knew knew he would be the one and I wan not wrong. But as I mentioned before this is the best top ten couples I have seen in all five seasons and I have not missed one yet so any one contestant leaving is sort of sad.

Last week it was Jonathan's and Asuka's turn. In Jonathan's case it didn't come as a big surprise, I thought he should have left the prior week and not Max but I also knew his days in SYTYCD were numbered. Asuka on the other hand had a great performance and I felt she should have stuck around instead of Karla. But again, competition is so tight this year that it doesn't really matter. At least all of my favorites are still in the competition.

Last night's show was without a doubt one of the most exciting shows in it five year history. To start things off Brandon and Janette opened up with and I agree with Nigel the best cha-cha to date. Being first is really not a good thing but in this couple's case it didn't make a difference, they came out and performed setting the bar so high for the remaining six couples that I don't think anybody that loves dance and loves the show will forget that performance anytime soon.

Brandon was harshly criticised by Mia during the last days in Vegas stating that he wasn't "all that" and that she just didn't "see it". Last night probably against her will but recognizing the obvious she paid him an apology of sorts that inevitably drew tears to Brandon's eyes. This couple in my opinion has been very consistent, and to think that Janette was supposed to be good only as a Salsa dancer.

Kupono and Kayla did very, very good too. Kayla is such a strong dancer that I have no doubt will make it far. She certainly has the potential to go all the way. Kupono is good but will leave eventually, he may out dance Jayson though and Evan.

Evan and Randi, I really enjoy this couple but they probably don't have the strongest fan base. There are other couples that are already hugging most of the votes. I think their Broadway routine last night was really good and I enjoyed it. As expected they didn't get the best reviews and were even criticised for being short, ouch! I am short too so that kindda hurt.

Jason and Caitlin, I have liked this couple since their Bollywood routine but they continue to find themselves in the bottom three and probably will be there again tonight. I think Caitlin is a fantastic dancer and Jason is good but I get the feeling they are in danger, mostly Jason whom stated last night that he barely squeaked by last week.

Phillip and Jeanine don't have to worry. He probably has the biggest fan base and she is just that good. Not my favorites at all but apparently everybody elses.

Ade and Melissa, definitely one of my favorite couples. She is the oldest contestant but you wouldn't know that by the way she looks and moves. Their Pas De Deux to Romeo and Juliet was just awesome.

And last but not least, Vitolo and Karla the definite underdogs in this competition the ones that pretty much were supposed to crash and burned last night delivered a great quick step routine. The whole thing was fun and I think they really delivered. Their costumes were awesome and Karla surprised us when in just one second she changed from what I thought was the worse costume for their routine into a wonderful ballroom outfit. They most likely will be bottom three again but I wouldn't count them out just yet.

So there you have it seven awesome routines 14 great dancers. It will definitely go down to popularity and my prediction is that Vitolo and Karla, Evan and Randi, and Jason and Caitlin will once again be dancing for their lives tonight.

Should be interesting but I don't expect to be too surprised.

This week's top fourteen.

Two Had to Go

I knew it was going to be hard, all 20 dancers were magnificent last night but at the end of tonight's show two would be going home. The question was which two, I really thought it was going to be Azuka and Vitolio as they did not impressed the judges last night even though they did good with what they were given. Broadway has not been my favorite anyway. Karla and Johnathan were praised by the judges but in the end after one great performance after another theirs was kindda forgettable. Tony and Paris also dance good but were pretty much out danced by many other couples.

So when Cat picked them out of the 20 I was not surprised. Still they had to dance for their lives and prove why they should remain on the competition. In the end and apparently as a unanimous decision the it was announced that Paris would be the girl to leave, then shortly after the montage of her best moments while on the show they announced that Tony would be the one, this after also saying that the other bottom two dancers did not impress them much either.

I had a feeling that a couple would be leaving as opposed to braking two couples. I was right. As the dancers go deeper into the competition they also gain confidence and experience, if competition was that fierce last night I can only imagine what is to come and it only promises to get better as it go.

SYTYCD -- Top 20

First show of the season and I was not disappointed at all. From the first routine to the tenth one after the other all ten couples showed their stuff and let me tell ya it has all the right ingredients for a super exciting season.

I really like the judges comments and what would that show be without Mary Murphy screaming, on Idol the contestants wait for Simon's comment as if the other two don't really matter, in SYTYCD they wait for that awful but at the same time lovable scream, you know the louder the scream the happier the receiving couple will be.

As for Cat Deeley I guess after three seasons with her on the show I finally got past the British accent and finally warmed up to her. I still don't think she is all that but I'm OK with her.

So, based on what I saw last night I think the season will be really good. It's still too soon for me to pick favorites as I really liked all the routines and the pairings were right on but I will tell you that my favorite routine of the night was the one by Caitlin and Jason, I truly enjoyed it from beginning to end.

It will be interesting to see who got the least votes last night but more interesting to see if one couple leaves or two are broken. For those of you that don't watch this show you are really missing out.

Caitlin and Jason
This was my favorite couple for the night. Their performance was H O T!

Weekend Again.

The weekends come faster that I want them to. It's like where does time go? Seems that it just swoosh past over my head over and over again. Granted it's pretty cool to have the weekend again but really when time passes so fast that I don't feel like anything worth while was accomplished I start thinking that maybe, just maybe I am getting old too fast. Not a good feeling.

Well at least this weekend we have a fiesta to attend to. My sisters birthday won't be until the 18th but she will celebrate it with a party this Saturday as my mom's birthday is actually the following week on Saturday the 16th. And also on that same Saturday my niece is throwing a children's party as her daughter turns two years old. I'm telling you, our fiestas never end. It's almost like at the beginning of the year we just take a number and start filling the annual party agenda.

Work is very slow, it is hard to keep my staff busy and to me that is more stressful than when we are busy. The news show that more and more people are being laid off and even though the company I work for does not lay off it's staff the thought is always there that if things don't pick up that could always be a possibility.

So, my favorite show after American Idol came to an end last night. "So You Think You Can Dance" has got to be the best dancing show period. Last night Josh was crowned America's favorite dancer. Week after week they eliminate one guy and one girl so last night as they had the top four and the eliminations started I was very surprised to see the girl that many of us thought would win the whole thing place third while the top to spots were given to two guys. Things that make me go hummmm!
Definitely the best season of the four but I personally was not happy that Twitch made it all the way to number two based on popularity. But then again that's what people base their votes on.

As of right now I have no shows to watch other than the Mexican soaps with mi chica. I am patiently waiting for the season premiere of Prison Brake which I believe starts pretty soon. Can't wait to see what the come up with.

Oh, I almost forgot. The Olympics start today and I will be watching some of my favorite events such as gymnastics, diving, swimming, maybe soccer and a few other favorites of mine.
