Happy Birthday To You Both!

So, today was the dual birthday celebration for Ariele and Atalie, they turned 4 and 2 respectively and my daughter threw them a formal party, at least that's what the invitation said, so I got dressed up in my Sunday best and went to the party. Ha, April Fools came six days later cause no one was dressed in formal attire.

I was going through my clothes and found that the slacks I wanted were dirty and I had not been able to take them to the cleaners so I did the next best thing, or so I thought. I threw them in the washer, set the dial on delicate, closed the lid, and gave it a go. A few minutes later, they were done, and I mean they were done, as in done for good because for some reason there were threads hanging from everywhere. How would I know that they would disintegrate? Well, plan "B" you are it.

I got there a bit late as I was also getting ready for church so I didn't stay there for long, OK long enough to eat because I was starving and the sandwich and chips were calling my name and by the way, they were good. I am totally surprised and proud of me as my white shirt survived being mobbed by my ten grand kids and many nephews and nieces, my son in law said it would be dirty before I left but only a few tiny smudges of cookies and frosting made their way on it.

Anyway, as I said I was not there for long but I was able to take a few pics with the grand kids.

Random Post

OK it was going to be a random post but somehow was taken over by the grand kids. :-)

Me and Rapunzel (her name of choice these days).
This is my granddaugher number six, this image was captured by my daughter during Alayna's kindergarden graduation. Rapuzel here with me was mad cause she wanted to share the limelight with her sister but couldn't. She so wants to be in kindergarden already. Notice Rapunzel is carrying her twin too. For a long time this little girl would not let anybody get near me or hug me because she would scream extremely loud, as far as she was concerned I was hers and only hers. She now refers of me as "Her #1 grandpa"

Conversation between my daugher and Rapunzel:

Michelle: Your grandpa is coming over
Rapunzel: Grandpa? My number one grandpa!
Michelle: Yes, that one.

This was taken on her graduation day. I had not enjoyed a graduation ceremony as much as I enjoyed hers. Half an hour concert by a bunch (about 50 or so) kindergarteners. They were super entertaining and they sung better than most grown ups.

She was just too happy with her roses and princess balloon and happy cause she will be going into first grade. Sometimes she thinks she is a grown up already.

My daughter has got to be nuts but I won't tell her and don't you tell her I said that either. But really who in their right mind would have nine out of my ten grandkids at her house for a sleepover. Yep, if you guessed Michelle then you were right. You need to have a lot of patience and of course a husband like hers whom will scare the heck out of all of them and keep them in line.

So, my little niece comes over and asks me how come Arielle is wearing a bathing suit, after all at Nikki's house there's no swimming pool. "I don't know baby, as your tia Michelle" was my responce. Excuse me Mr. Melo! Have you not seen the movie "The Little Mermaid", don't you know the name of the main character? There, I just told me off myself. But really I am only a grandpa, how am I supposed to remember the name of all the Disney characters, specially the ones named after my granddaugher or... wait, the other way around right?

Nikki was gracious enough to host her birthday party numero 3. Wow! Three years old already, I am telling you I am getting old way too fast and these kids just continue to grow changing almost on a daily basis.

As always a plethora of familia gathered and had a great time. Plenty of food, pasta salad, chips and sssssssss.... oh wait for the second fiesta in a row there was no salsa. Whose daughters are these?
